The Responsible Innovation and Protein Transition (RI-ProT) project has been prominently featured in the January 2025 issue of We/Four, the magazine of Technische Universität Berlin. This initiative is part of the Berlin University Alliance's Grand Challenge funding line, supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the State of Berlin.

RI-ProT aims to foster responsible innovations in the transformation of protein production systems. The project brings together researchers from Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and Technische Universität Berlin, alongside stakeholders from industry, civil society, and policy-making. Through collaborative efforts, the project seeks to develop inclusive methodologies, such as an innovation radar, to assess the environmental, ethical, and social impacts of emerging protein sources. The goal is to ensure that the transition towards alternative proteins contributes to sustainable and equitable food systems.
